Rafael Nadal Information
Rafael Nadal is keen Football fan and his favourite player is Frenchman Zinédine Zidane
Rafael Nadal has met considerable hostility from the Parisian public during his performances at Roland Garros. He is often booed throughout and even after the match, especially when playing against and beating French players such as Mathieu or Gasquet. Commentators on French TV, such as Guy Forget on France 2, openly say they want him to lose during matches, claiming that “we don’t need construction worker arms in tennis”. After the 2006 Roland Garros final against Federer, Nadal started by praising Federer in his speech. The translator mistranslated the speech, leading the public to think he was praising himself. Nadal was thus booed and whistled at throughout the speech.
Rafael Nadal record-setting 60-match clay court win streak has been consistently belittled by the man whose record he broke–Guillermo Vilas. Vilas reasons that Nadal’s streak isn’t as impressive as his was because “things were much more difficult in my day,” and because Vilas’s 53-match win streak all occurred within the same calendar year–not over two seasons as is the case with Nadal.
Nadal is the nephew of former Spanish footballer Miguel Ángel Nadal, one of Spain’s most capped players. Miguel’s brother Toni is the coach of Rafael.
In preparation for an event, tennis great Pat Cash played a clay-court match against the then fourteen year-old Rafael Nadal. In the end, he was surprised to find himself losing by a close margin.
Rafael Nadal tends to take his time between points much to the chagrin of his opponents. In one point he took close to a full-minute to serve when the allowable time limit was only 20 seconds.

Steffi Graf More at IMDbPro »
Date of Birth
14 June 1969, Mannheim, West Germany (now Germany)
Birth Name
Stefanie Maria Graf
Nickname
Fraulein Forehand
Die Gräfin
Height
5' 9" (1.75 m)
Mini Biography
Steffi Graf started playing tennis at age 3, coached by her father. Under the area's tennis program, as the best girl, she would play against the worst boy -- who was usually Boris Becker. After winning the German and European Juniors, she turned pro on 18 October 1982. The next day, she lost to Tracy Austin, who was less-than impressed, telling the press there were "hundreds of girls" like Graf in the States. Graf finally won her first title on 13 April 1986, defeating Chris Evert at the Family Circle Cup. She would win 107 WTA tournaments, behind Martina Navratilova (167) and Evert (157), 22 Slams, and the Grand Slam in 1988. She found herself at the center of a near-tragedy on 30 April 1993. Her then-arch rival, Monica Seles, was resting during a changeover at the Hamburg Open when a man made his way through the stands, and plunged a knife into her back. At first, it was thought the attack was prompted by the conflict in Seles's Yugoslavia. But, it turned out Guenter Parche was a Graf fan and reasoned that if he took Seles out, Graf could re-gain the #1 ranking. The attack reverberated across sports. It also changed the course of tennis history; Seles was off the court for 27 months, and never regained her dominating form. Graf visited Seles in the hospital, but hasn't commented publicly about the incident until recently. Graf retired on 13 August 1999 after a rare loss in the Wimbledon finals. By this time, she was dating Andre Agassi. With only their mothers as witnesses, they married on 22 October 2001 at his Las Vegas home. Their son, Jaden Gil, was born four days later, 6 weeks premature. Their daughter, Jaz Elle, was born on 3 October 2003. Famous for her killer instinct and business-like approach, at times she displayed a sense of humor. During a tight 1995 Wimbledon match against Japan's Kimiko Date, she was serving when a fan yelled out "Steffi!" Everyone, including Steffi, burst out laughing. Composing herself, she readied to serve when the fan shouted "Steffi! Will you marry me?" The stadium burst into peals of laughter and play was delayed for a couple of minutes. Steffi got ready to serve again, tossed the ball, caught it, turned to the fan and yelled "How much money do you have?" Graf lost the set, but won the match to face (and defeat) Arantxa Sánchez Vicario for the title.

Birthday: 10/18/1956
Birthplace: Revnice, Czechoslovakia [now Czech Republic]
Occupation: Sport
Sign: Libra
Citizen has been described as the greatest female athlete of this century.
Born in Prague, Czechoslovakia in 1956, Navratilova first visited the United States in in 1973. Two years later, she defected to the U.S., requesting political asylum. She became an American citizen in 1981.
As a singles Tennis Player, she has won 167 titles including a record nine at Wimbledon. Her victory in the 1995 Wimbledon mixed doubles extended her total of Wimbledon titles to 19, one short of Billie Jean King's record.

In 1978 she began a relationship with Rita Mae Brown, an American activist and writer, but the publicity made her resign as head of the Women's Tennis Association. She later had an affair with Judy Nelson and gained admiration by routinely climbing into the crowd at tennis matches to snog her lover after winning games.
She stepped up her campaigning for lesbian and gay rights and spoke at the March on Washington DC in April 1993. She also filed a law suit against the enactment of the homophobic Amendment 2 in Colorado which bans legal protection for lesbians and gays in the fields of housing and employment.
